And in other news...

No, I'm not going to talk about the economy or the upcoming election. I leave those things for the "real" news.

I'm actually referring to bloggy news.

There are a few very important matters I've had tabled. So picture me now, next to Charlie Gibson at the news desk, my make-up (what's that?) caked on thick and the horrible lighting blaring into my eyes.

How do I look?

I don't know why they have bricks behind their news desk, but let's just roll with it.

This is what I will do when Charlie says something funny.

And then I would get fired for having such an unsightly large mouth.

Anyway, back to the important stuff.

I won a giveaway! It was hard work too-I had to leave a comment! Well, okay. I've actually won TWO giveaways, but I'm going to wait to mention the second prize until I have it in my hot little hands. The first giveaway was won over on Mom Most Traveled. I won a CD from Sugar Mountain, African Dreamland. It's GOOD stuff.

Over two years ago, I got African Dreamland from the library and we loved it, listening to it in the car every chance we got and then...I lost it. I had to pay the library. So I think God smiled on me with this particular win, and now I get to keep this cool CD forever!

(see, I'm good with news-worthy witty banter. Charlie is currently wide-open-mouth laughing along with me. Which is kind of annoying since he's taking the spotlight off of me a bit.)

In other bloggy news. I would like you all to take a look at the little inserted screen over here on the right sidebar. It is a display of an addiction brought to me by Mary. I cannot stop trying to beat myself at typing. I dare you all to try it and see if you can stop. I guess if you aren't good with typing, you'll think it's a dumb game. But if you pride yourself on magnificent typing skills like mine, you might spend the whole day typing random words as fast as you can in 60 seconds. Good luck!

(If you haven't noticed, I'm also playing another game with myself. It's called, How Many Times Can You Link to Mary. I think I'm on four now. Keep track with me. Her hilarity makes it impossible to stop linking to her.)

(Charlie says something funny about how he too loves Mary. I just wish he would stop interrupting. I'm on a roll.)

And in other news, I am grateful and excited to see all the posts that are linked up to Mr.Linky on this post. Thank you to each of you who made your own list of things you're doing well as a mom! I hope it felt good and was a reminder to focus a bit more on the positive. If you'd still like to make your list, feel free. Like I said, there's no deadline. I have too many of those here at the news desk.

I was also tagged for a meme. But I bucked the system and didn't do it since I had just done it recently. So take that TM!!! Ha ha ha ha (see above photo) Ha ha ha ha.... Yes, I had already done it, and also I've been really busy racing myself at typing.

And now for the weather...Al?

beep beep beep beeeeeeeeeeep: This just in. I will be attending a bloggy get-together this Saturday with a number of totally famous bloggers. Or really good bloggers anyway. Ones that live near me. Hence the invitation for me to join. I doubt it was because of my ties to Charlie Gibson, but I guess that could be it too. I can't wait to meet these lovely women and then blog about it. More to come...

I love Mary too. You wonder what Mary did to get 8 words per minute? And hey, I've got a post ready for tomorrow that I will link up to the Mr. Linky. Thanks for "making" me think of reasons why I am a good mother!

Yes, Heather. What a hideous mouth you have. Ugly teeth, ugly smile. I really pity you.

But even with a mouth like that you still manage to be a superb news anchor.

FANTASTIC picture of you! So beautiful...and joyful! Love it.

I spent a whole hour trying to beat my own score of 72. An HOUR. Good Grief. Blessings, Whitney

yay for typing... I thought I was the only one who downloaded typing games for fun... oh wait? I am? uh... k...

Well, that explains how you manage to find time to write so well, so often! I would probably score pretty low on the typing test, and not only because in that one minute, I would have removed my son from the kitty litter twice, and had my computer restarted once by him. (It just took me five minutes to write this comment!)

Oh, and I'm not sucking up, but I really like that picture of you. You look so happy :)

You people are way too nice.

Repeat after me:

BIG MOUTH

I accept my big mouth and love to laugh with it wide open. You all are too kind...

I love that picture too! Mary is a fast typer! I only got like 87 WPM.

I should give you the game where you have to try to click as close to the city and country as it tells you. It's addictive.

And then maybe I'll get a link to I can rub it in Mary's face on Friday.

You look great! Love the bricks. Ummm....what about the giveaway you just won over at my place??? Hmmmm??? I feel totally unappreciated. And I'm a little suspicious of your sudden winning streak. Did you figure out a way to "rig" Random.org?

Seriously, big congratulations. And have fun this weekend with all the famous boggers! :-)

75?! Is that even possible? I'm thinking you cheated, or maybe your great-granfather was a road runner.

I resisted the typing test on Mary's blog, but you've convinced me. Off to go try my hand at beating you. Mary will be impossible to beat, though.

And also, I am fairly sure that my mouth is bigger than yours.

Oooo....lot's of excitement! Hope you enjoy the bloggy get together. That is such stuff as dreams are made of, in my opinion!

And I loooove that picture of you! Gorgeously happy.

I love you even though you're pretty.

Typing test! What fun! I actually got 94 wpm. Good thing, too, since I make a living typing. Oh, and that was with only one typo. (Pats self on back here :D).

Heather of the EO said...

That 'vpmsavga' is probably working for the company that has that typing test. They're trying to get my goat so I'll sit all day with their game and make them some dough.
94 wpm? Uuuum...
And this new person just happened along my blog to tell me that. Uh huh. With no profile available. Yah.
I'm no spring chicken. Or whatever that saying is...
I'm off to NOT try to beat 94wpm. :)

I can't wait, either. Seriously...I think I'm heading north to wait at GE this instant.

Sara@iSass said...

SERIOUSLY! I got 14. It's sick it's a sick sick game. I'm not a good speller and I failed typing in school, really I did. I got a STINKIN' 14!!!! I was feeling better today too. Not anymore I'm stinkin lousy typer!

Ohh fun. I love typing..

Jillene said...

Congrats on all the winning!! It just reminds me that I am such a loser!!

As if Flowerz and Cubis weren't bad enough, I've got this typing thing to worry about now? I don't know who's butt I'm kicking but as soon as I figure out how to do it virtually, either you are Mary is (are?) in big trouble.

Jenna said...

why did show me that typing test? are you kidding me. i will be trying to beat my own score for the rest of the day now!

Anonymous said...

Honestly?? You crack me up! I am working on my list...it's hard man! Oh, and I am in the too big mouth club also. It's a good place to be :)

Mozi Esme said...

I love that laugh!

And I'm not gonna try the typing thing again. I did it awhile ago and got 96wpm, and I would spend all night trying to get there again.

Too funny.
Love the news.
Who is Charles Gibson? Seriously. I so need to get out more.

Heather of the EO said...

I don't really watch the news. Maybe that's not his name. Does he go by Charlie? Does anyone know? Oops.

The CD thing--I love it when life gets all serendipitious like that. Tho I'm not sure serendipitous is a real word.

Kazzy said...

I am not even coming close to the typing thingy. I am pretty good for a girl who never took typing in high school, but hubby cringes every time he looks over my shoulder and sees my fingering techniques. Have fun at your bloggers getaway. And you are so cute in that photo! I LOVE huge smiles! They make me smile back!

TheOneTrueSue said...

Yes, I think Mary has some kind of hypnotic brain power that makes us all repeatedly link to her. STOP MESSING WITH MY HEAD MARY.

I tried writing a post for your Mr. Linky, but it made me feel so insufferable. I'm much more comfortable making fun of my parenting abilities :)

Carrie Thompson said...

Hey number three! You won the popcorn! send me an address!

You are going to love it!

S'dizzle said...

I have been sucked into trying to improve my typing time more than I'd like to admit.

I have a large schnoz, which gets even larger and more hideous when I laugh.

Lisa said...

I might watch the news if you were the anchor...or if it was all about bloggy news...alas, guess I'll have to stay blissfully ignorant.

Jenny said...

Heather. First off. I CAN'T WAIT either for Saturday... YIPPEE!!

Secondly. I'm only 59 words per minute and I think I'm pretty fast.

I'm gonna practice, mark my words.

;o)
