My Christmas (COUGH) Card

December 7, 2009

I haven't sent out any Christmas cards yet. I haven't addressed any envelopes or licked any stamps either.

I have ordered some Christmas cards though, and for that I'm proud.

I mean, c'mon. We've had the swine flu and a plethora of other diseases over here. AND we're moving at the end of December. Any kind of Christmas card at all really is actually quite an amazing accomplishment, if I do say so myself.

The cards I ordered (which I'll show you in a future post) actually don't even have pictures of our family on them.

GASP! (yes that was you. YOU. I heard you gasp!)

I know, I know, alright?

But don't you worry, the cards are still really cool. I just couldn't find the time to dig through the gazillions of photos I have saved to find just the right ones. I mean, there are so many absolutely perfect and beautiful photos of my children where they have no goo on their faces and they're looking right at the camera and not poking each other and smiling perfectly...it's just so hard to choose...

Like this one....

Miles the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Or perhaps this one....

Jolly Old Saint Asher

Check that beard. Check that nose. Priceless. Now you can't complain about the picture-less cards this year, because you've seen these pictures....

Unless you don't read my blog and therefore don't see these pictures. Then you can complain. I guess.

~~~~~~~~~~
If you want to share your holiday card (or non-card like me) and have the chance to see the cards of a whole lot of other bloggy pals, link up to the SITSmas carnival on Tuesday. There are prizes, so you don't want to miss out!
Remember yesterday's post? The auction? Well, I've gotten a sneak peak at the items for bidding and they are GOOD, so please come back tomorrow for the Blog, Bid, Hope Auction put on by myself and Adventures in Babywearing, Buried with Children, Mayhem & Moxie, 7 Clown Circus, Scary Mommy, & Mama’s Losin’ It. Our goal is to raise money on behalf of the The Liz Logelin Foundation, as well as Anissa Mayhew, a 35 year old blogger who recently suffered a stroke. The auction will offer a variety of items, including blog designs, accessories, electronics, baby gear and art. Because different items will be available for bidding on all seven sites, you are sure to please anyone on your holiday list!
P.S. THE WINNER OF THE DAN ZANES GIVEAWAY IS NILI! Congrats, Nili! Contact me with your info and I'll send you some rockin' cool music ASAP!
Heather,
LOVE the pictures. I am at a crossroads this year. I've put a HUGE yoke around my neck. Yes, I've been one of those people who make their cards every year. For the past 8 years I've been pretty creative if I do say so myself. But this year...NOTHING. It's driving me batty.
Looking forward to checking out that site to see if there are ideas I can borrow.
...and if we can't exploit our children for an annual Christmas card, who can we exploit?
HUGS!
Christmas cards? Oh, my. Yet another item that has slipped my mind.
I've had my cards since the first of November... they are still sitting nicely in their boxes in my closet. Hmmm... guess I need to address those huh? :)
No, it wasn't a gasp it was a "WHAT?!?! What is she thinking?!?!?!" heehee!
I never send out cards, I always do the "green" (i.e. cheap) card and send it out in an email. But really, I don't even want to do that...if people really cared they would just read my blog ;)
nicely done, my friend. that beard looks so real. ;)
I haven't even thought about Christmas cards yet. Crap. Maybe I'll do a mass email/blog post instead. Geesh. I'm bad at that stuff.
Hope you're feeling better my dear! xoxo
Those are perfect holiday photos and you don't have to worry about the crying toddler, the falling tree, or the antlered dog humping your leg while trying to take them! Brilliant! Merry SITSmas:)
Very cute, Heather! I've ordered my cards (with a picture), but that's as far as I've gotten. I don't even know if I ordered enough or if I ordered way too many.
By the way, who licks stamps anymore? :) Self-adhesive, girl!
Cute "cards"! I think Cyber cards are definitely how I'm gettin it done this year.
Oh man, I have not done any cards yet either, and I haven't been sick! Just slacking this year!
Merry SITSmas!
I haven't ordered cards yet and we're leaving in a few days for a two week trip to visit family. Something tells me this momma is going to be sending out "Happy New Year!" cards this holiday season.
Fabulous pictures!
Ugh...cards...yet another thing on the rapidly growing to-do list. I had the brilliant idea that I'd make our cards this year. I have the blank cards, the stamps, the scrapbook paper... What I haven't had is the time, energy, or motivation. I need to get a move on, or I'll be heading out to Target soon to pick out whatever they have left for boxed cards!
My cards are signed, sealed & delivered!
But, I do have a self-diagnosed case of OCD :-)
Those pics are insanely cute! I finally ordered my cards too...lets see how long it takes for them to get addressed and then actually make it the 1 1/2 blocks to the post office.
I put my family card (I am a digi-scrapper) on my blog yesterday, with the intention of linking it to SITS today, then forgot until I came here.
Thanks for the reminder :)
ha ha - glad to hear I am not the only one with a stack of cards calling my name and I am avoiding them at every little peek!
I am horrible about Christmas cards. For some reason I really dislike doing them. I haven't even started yet. We are also just getting over the swine flu. I probably should send some out this year since I didn't get any out last year. We'll see. I might get a few out this year...maybe! :)
Love the pictures!
Lara Neves said...
Hey, you're doing GREAT to have the picture taken care of and the cards ordered. Me? Nada. I usually have them sent out by now, too! I am doomed this year. I'm thinking maybe a new year's card might be in order. :)
Love the fun pictures!
No complaining here! Those are some DARLING children! I'm sorry about the craziness of your holiday season. That swine flu sucks. =[
THAT ... is exactly why every single year we send out valentine's day cards.
x-mas time is just too stressful.
and this year? added bonus? valentine's day cards will also (hopefully) be a baby announcement too. that would be me ... the queen of killing 2 birds with one stone. holy, i hate that expression.
LOVE the photoshopped pictures!
You must be nuts to move at the end of December! I've moved the week after the holidays, and that enough was maddening. Good luck!
I haven't gotten the cards out yet either...and I even got them for free thanks to some coupon or other online. Ugh.
'Tis the Season, I guess. ;)
Merry SITsmas. :)
Mine are finally ordered! Yeah, me! Though if I get them mailed by Christmas I will be extremely happy. And I'm not even moving and no swine flu, either...
Prizes? Really? For Christmas cards? Hmm...
Love the bearded kid. And the red nose. Very holiday spirit.
Mary @ Parenthood said...
I love those pictures. In theory we're going to do a Christmas card. But then again I've been meaning to send out cards since we first got married eight Christmases ago. Hmm... Maybe we'll try a virtual Christmas card this year.
Unknown said...
I think either of those would make a perfect card!
P.S. Mailed mine today. WAHOO!
Who are you? You are moving at the end of December and you've been sick and you are handling this amazing auction and showing us adorable pics of your boys? You are unstoppable sister. Amazing.
