I'm a fan

I'm a big fan of owls.

The other day, my friend gave me a big fat owl to sit outside my front door. He greets people.
(He's not a real live owl, he's a decorative one.) I would have taken a picture of him to show you, but it's pouring outside right now, so he's busy. I don't know what I mean by that.

Owls can turn their heads all the way around, isn't that mind blowing?
They're like mothers.

I'm also a big fan of garage sales. Yesterday we found an area rug that's just perfect for our family room. It has orange and gray in it, and so do our family and dining rooms. So it matches.

But my socks don't.
I'm not a fan of matching clothing.

Ryan is not a fan of germs and so he's a bit concerned that something horrible is lurking in this garage sale rug. He just told the boys, "First I'm going to vacuum it and then I'm going to steam clean it, and then I'm going to spray it with disinfectant and then I'm going to take it out to dinner."

I'm a fan of Ryan's humor.

I am 35 years old today, which looks really weird to me on the computer screen. I feel 25-ish and act 18-ish and maybe it's time to decide to fully grow up. I'll give that some more thought. Later.

Right now I'm just trying to be a fan of 35.

I had my first "using dream" last night. That's what we addicts call a dream in which you are drinking or using drugs even though you're sober in real life.

I am not a fan of using dreams.

In my dream, Ryan was just as forgiving as he is in real life.

You guessed it, I'm a fan.

He got me a Netbook for my birthday. Seriously. I love it. It's tiny and doesn't weigh very much at all and it can turn it's head all the way around.

Wait. I somehow went back to the beginning.

Oh well, that's what you have to do sometimes.

I'm a fan of do-overs.

{Last night I totally forgot to wrap up the giveaway for Life After Yes until it was past my bedtime. So I consulted random.org and then waited to tell you right now that Mainly a Midwife
is the winner! Congrats, lady! Email me and stuff.}

P.S. I'm a big fan....

(Samsung did not have anything to do with this post at all. I just told you what I got for my birthday and in doing so I generously gifted Samsung with free advertising. I hope it's their birthday.)

One last thing...I'm a fan:

Happy Birthday! I got a netbook for Christmas and it's like my 4th baby, only it doesn't scream or cry or want it's diaper changed (yet). I love it.

Happy Birthday to you! I will join you at 35 in October and I wonder if I will freak out. I didn't freak out at 25 or 30 and most of my friends did, so I keep waiting for my freak-out age to happen. I hope it doesn't, though.

But back to you... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

And psst, just in case I haven't been clear in the past 100x I've said it, I'm a BIG fan of you.
(And yes, I realize how cheesey I sound when I say stuff like that. But alas, tis true.)

Happy Birthday - I am staring 47 in the face with a three year old daughter so can tell you 35 is YOUNG! When you get to my age you will honestly look back and know what I am now telling you to be a fact, only then it will be too late to appreciate it, so I just have to tell you :-)

We have two wizards outside our front door. They have followed us around the globe, all part of my husband's geeky interests in all things gaming. I refuse to let them in the house, so they sit outside and frighten away unwanted guests :-)

Secret least well-known: Thirty-five is the best. I was there last year, and pretend that I still am. It's that good no worries about what everyone else might be thinking, that was the best gift of the year for me. Hope it's glorious!

You know, I think it needs to be said again. I'm a fan of YOU! Happy birthday to a wonderful and beautiful woman -- inside and out.

I knew I wouldn't be the first to type it, but it's the first thing I thought when reading this: I'm a fan of you. Also? 35? Really? Man, I am feeling kind of oldish. Because I am only a few months away from officially being in my LATE-30s. And I don't FEEL late-30ish. But, I think I might LOOK late-30ish. And that means I need to start WORKING at looking more the way I feel. Wait. I didn't mean to make this all about me. Happy Birthday to YOU.

So, is it a "using" dream when I am on a diet and I dream about eating one of those sacks of mini-Oreos?

Happy birthday, amazing friend.
I'm a fan. A huge fan!

And if you think it's hard being a fan of 35, which is WONDERFUL, wait till you try being a fan of any number over 40!

Have a great day! xo

Happy Birthday Chica!

For a minute I thought you wrote that he bought you a notbeook for your birthday and I smiled. Honestly I'm a fan of paper. I write everything (my stories, my poetry) long hand on paper with a pen. I haven't been able to write anything meaningful with just the computer.

But then I read the word again and thought why would ANYONE else love a notebook for a birthday gift. I am such a dork!

ANYWAY...

I'm a fan of your thoughts.

Heather of the EO said...

alita, ME TOO. I actually did get a paper notebook and pens from my friend Annette for my bday. And I love them. I'm old-fashioned underneath it all too :)
