9/1/10

september holds

Let's just get this question out of the way at the beginning, shall we? How is it September 1st already? There. No answer? Me either.

It's inevitable, summer is bound to slip away. She does it every year. She is sneaky and good at hiding.

I was thinking it might be fun to look at the brighter side of falling into fall.

So. Here are some things that are up and coming in the land of the EO:

  • On September 11th, I'll be speaking at the first-ever Minnesota Blogger Conference in St. Paul. My session is 45 minutes long and is called "Authentic Blogging: The benefits and risks of sharing your personal life online." I plan to dance and sing. Kidding. I'm really looking forward to this, friends. I wish you could all be there. Except I don't, because that would make me nervous and I'm currently not all that nervous. Anyway. The conference filled up so quickly, a lot of people are bummed to have missed registration. So, just so you know...you can head to an event the night before the actual conference if you're nearby. It's open to all bloggers, not just attendees.
  • I've talked about the Liz Logelin Foundation several times in the past, and I'm happy to say that September means I get to talk about it again. A few events are on the horizon, including the Gala, the 5k, and this year, if you're not in The Minnesota, you can take part in an online auction on September 17th for donated items from Gussy, One Hope Wine, and many more. Sidenote: Matt Logelin is speaking at the Minnesota Blogger Conference. His session is after mine, so I plan to sit and listen with no nerves, while eating popcorn. I can't wait. (Okay. Fine. I don't actually know if I'll have popcorn, but it sounds good right now.)
  • The Type A Mom Conference is the weekend of September 24-26. I have the honor of speaking on the Revolutionary Blogging panel. This adventure will most likely involve hours and hours in the car with Maggie Dammit. Who knows, maybe we'll hate each other by the time we get to North Carolina and then we'll sit on the same panel with our arms crossed and tell everyone we don't share a sobriety date anymore. Could be very dramatic. You should come.

Alright, that's enough for now, friends. With all of these lovely endeavors on the horizon, the only other thing I have planned is more of this:

And more of that:
(this is me with no make up and no shower in the wind. Deal with it.)

Oh. And the writing of the book. I plan to keep plugging away at that, even when it hurts.

Happy September, friends.

I KNOW! Where did September come from? And the leaves are already starting to change around here. Crazy. I'll miss summer, but I can't say I'm not going to love fall. I'm actually looking forward to it with much anticipation.

You will be a wonderful speaker...wish I could hear you!

I get to see you two out of three! Woohoo!!

September does come fast every year, but this year I welcome it with open arms!

Busy September for you!

Maybe I'm a nutcase, but I've been waiting for September for months. I honestly think I could skip the summer months completely. They're my least favorite months of the year.

Yeah, no maybe about it. I'm a nutter.

(And the keep-plugging part? The hurting slows down as the writing muscles grow. Just saying.)

Wow! You're so famous! And, I agree, the writing of books can be painful. Heidi, the girl hiding from her current wip b/c it is whipping her rear end.

There's a Minnesota Blogger's Conference? Wish I'd known earlier, sounds fun! I guess I've really only been doing this regularly since January.....

I am definitely a summer girl, so September comes and I am never ready. Although, football season does help make the transition easier. :)

Have fun conferencing...I wish I could go and listen (to you and Matt).

This will be one busy September for you, but only filled with the nicest of things it sounds like, so that is good!

Every once in a while, a non-showered & windy photo can be the most beautiful of all, because it shows your bare-faced love in all its glory. Or maybe its the glow from those gorgeous boys rubbing off on you.

My September is equally jam-packed, but not with anything as noteworthy as what you're up to. Congrats, good luck, and boo sucks for me that I'm not going to be at any of them.

You're amazing - you deserve all the good coming your way.

You guys should totally come through Ohio and pick me up, you know because I am going to Type-A as well to photograph and I am a seriously good driver, make excellent road trip snacks and my witty banter is something to write home about. And then Maggie could say that she traveled from Ohio with The Heathers and who gets to say that. (I was going to totally say she could claim she traveled there with a Heather Sandwich, but you know we are bloggers not other things and you know I don't want to offend you if you guys really want to ride with me)

Don't you love when I get all novel-esque in your comments.
