The EO Birthday and a Give-away!

Do you wanna know what's funny? Back when I did the little "interview" thing for 5 Minutes for Mom, I said I'd been blogging for about a year and a half.

Today I took a look at the date of my first post, and to my surprise, I'm just now coming up on one year of blogging. Yup, in October. Apparently I thought it was much longer than it has been like three months ago when I answered those questions. Time is so freakin' weird to me. I can't for the life of me keep track of it. You'd think it would be pretty simple, what with all the calendars and clocks and stuff around. But I actually don't look at either of those things all that often.

Anyway, I digress. (I wonder how many times I've typed those two words in the last year? I digress. I'd guess about 476 times, but I'm not too good with guessing. See above.)

But I digress.

It seems the thing to do when there's a bloggy anniversary is to give stuff away! And I'm all for following the crowd. At least if it's a good, healthy thing to do (and sometimes not). SO, I think I'll give stuff away! And I'm so excited. Because the truth is that I really do LOVE to give stuff away. Not only at garage sales in the free box, or setting things out on the curb as freebies, or randomly handing someone a half-eaten box of marshmallow Peeps, but I mean gift giving too.

Because I'm so kind and generous. Or maybe it's just selfish. Because if it gives someone a little moment of giddy happiness, then I get a moment of giddy happiness and I like those. So it's really just selfish. I want a moment of giddy happiness!

I know, stop rambling and just say what the give-aways are already, right? Well, I have had much difficulty making a decision, but I've narrowed it down to these things:

If you don't know already, I'm Sara Groves' number one biggest fan ever ever ever. This year, she's releasing her first Christmas album. And I want to give it to one lucky winner (and myself)
I am absolutely positive this album is going to rock the Christmas party. Mark.my.words.

Okay nextly, for the second winner:
I mentioned marshmallow peeps above. If it were Easter I would give some away. Even though no one likes them besides me. I'm sorry to say I had to think of something else since it's not Peep time in the fall.
I'm giving away a copy of Twilight (kidding, you all already have that.)

Okay, okay. I'm going to give away either the movie Sweetland or The Spitfire Grill. I say either because the winner will get to choose which one they would like! What fun. If you aren't familiar, take a look at the links. These are two of my favorite films.

Did you catch on that I'm giving away things I love? That's a selfish reason too. Because I like to try to get people to like what I like.

Now all you have to do is a leave one comment. Easy peasy. I'll do that random drawing thing on October 4th, the big one-year anniversary here at the EO. I'll post two winners that day. I hope you win. And you. And you. And you. I really do love it that I've met you here in the blogosphere, my favorite virtual grown-up playground. (Or if I haven't met you, I hope to sometime and I'm really glad you like my digressing ramblings.)

P.S. If you aren't familiar with how commenting works, you just click on the word 'Comment' at the end of this post. Then you can even click 'anonymous' and just sign your name in your comment so I know who you are if you win. That way you don't have to create a blogger account and all that jazz. Go. Fight. Win.

P.P.S. If I forgot anything or didn't make sense, just feel free to tell me. After all, I've no idea what in the world I'm doing, it's only been a year.

If you pick me, I see some deviled eggs in your future! And I'll try not to cheat next time, and buy premade hardboiled eggs. I was in crisis!!!

Happy Bloggoversary!! How exciting! And how very sweet of you to share in the celebration with the rest of us. All of the gifts look wonderful. Can't even tell you what I'd rather win!

Oh, did I ever mention that I fully DECORATE my house with Christmas music? Yeah, MUST HAVE that prize! (I'm not grabby or anything...) :)

What an amazing year! Just in the three months or so that I've been blogging I've seen you grow so fast! Very exciting. Happy blogiversary!

I am the HUGEST Sara Groves fan! Yaay! And can I just say that I really appreciate the comment you left on my blog last week...a little validation goes a long way! I've been reading Mama Manifesto a lot lately...and totally loving it! I don't know what I'm going to have as an excuse to read blogs when I'm done nursing and actually have to get stuff done around the house! Congratulations on your blog!

This is why I should totally win....in case you're just saying that you're choosing the winners randomly.
1. I listened to Christmas music last week. (the proof is in the blog post).
2. I am not allowed to have a Christmas tree. Poor poor me:( So I need all the yuletide ambiance I can get in the form of music.
3. One of my kids just fell off her bike and she has the fattest bloodiest lip I've ever seen! For realio.

So pick me! Love me! Want me! Choose me!!!!!

It shoudl totally be me. Remember last fall when I was all, "Heather blog already, everybody's doing it!" Rememeber? Secondly, Sweetland is my homeland. Close enough. Great movie!

I've never heard of Sara Groves, but I'm always up for more Christmas music. Christmas in July, anyone?

Can we still be friends if I told you I've never listened to Sara Groves (besides KTIS)? It's not for lack of interest. More lack of time and attention.

So obviously, I need to win so I can be edgimacated.

Yay! Happy Bloggoversary! My niece also turns one on October 4 (which is actually not that coincidental considering I have about a million nieces, so your chances were really good for falling on one of their birthdays!)
I'm not sure if I count, being Canadian and all... but if so, then count me in!

Happy Blog-iversary!
(Who is Sarah Groves?)
Sorry. This hearing impaired person doesn't love music the way the rest of y'all do. I can never figure out the lyrics. It all just sounds like Jesus yadda yadda, believe mumble mumble, lift high la la la.
Congrats!

Pick me! Pick me!

I love give-aways! I'm thinking of doing one on my blog, but I'm not sure I have enough readers to do it. Then again, all the better odds for those that do read.

I am not a fan of Peeps but my sister-in-law (who is English) insists that they're delicious if you eat them frozen. But this is how she eats her peas and swears they taste like candy, so I don't know...that's not really selling me on the Peeps, yo. I'm in for the rest of the prizes, though!

I don't know who Sara Groves is, so clearly I should win. I assume my lack of knowledge is a Major Travesty. Clearly you should fix this.

Pick me, pick me!

Commenting for free stuff.

I remember when you sold me that Jesse James collector bottle at a bargain price at your garage sale, so I can personally speak to your generosity.

I'm not trying to suck up or anything just to win free stuff. And yay for blogiversarys!

I am too lazy to read all of these millions of comments to check and see if anyone already said this BUT they now have Peeps for every holiday. Is true! For Halloween they are chocolate dusted jack o lanterns. Too bad my kids hate Peeps. I have to include them at Easter because it just isn't Easter without them. My kids disagree but who cares?

You can only be Sara Groves' second biggest fan, cuz I am her number one biggest fan. Congratulations on one year!

Just a side note even if you legitimately draw joolees name you can't let her win.

Look at everyone who loves you.

Happy Blogoversary! :) I have no reason for you to pick me over all the others, so I'm hoping it's random. But congratulations on reaching the milepost. Keep it up!

Sweet! I love Sara Groves. And Christmas. Just Christmas, though, besides that I H-A-T-E winter. And I live in MN.

You are SO not the only one who loves peeps. My grandmother goes crazy for them. And I thought I saw halloween peeps last year, like in the share of ghosts or something. I know they have Christmas ones and since the stores are already putting out Christmas merchandise, you could probably find them some where. Just a suggestion.

I'm not going to put my real name in here, just my pretend one to see if you remember me.

Have you ever seen The Sin Eater? It's a good movie and your mentioning of Sweetland made me think of it, which it shouldn't have because they don't have anything in common.

Hey, we'll be having a birthday party over here at our house on your bloggoversary!!(I won't say for who because I'm not into giving out birth dates on the net.) It's ok if I don't win, though, 'cause I'll probably go buy the Sara Groves Christmas CD anyway. Love ya! ;)

Becky said...

I'm almost to my one-year bloggoversary, too. Wow... doesn't seem like it's been that long!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Christmas album!

Mozi Esme said...

Wow, you are generous! And I would love to win! Anything. I'd love that CD. Both movies look really good . . .

Oh, and congrats on your anniversary!
