The Noggin, Part 77

Asher has his catscan this morning.

You might be saying, I thought you weren't going to do that silly thing?

Well, we weren't. Not after the twelve month appointment. But now we are. We're indecisive like that.

I still assume there's nothing wrong with our boy. He's simply a genius. Hence, the large noggin. Obviously.

But the noggin did take another LEAP in growth at his fifteen month appointment, so we figured it was time for complete peace of mind.

Most likely we'll just find out that his brain is SO big he's going to change the world forever with his ingenuity, great love for peace and justice, and his mind-reading abilities. (I swear he can read my mind.)

I'm taking him by myself as Ryan is out of town, so we'll see if this leads to a blog post. Things tend to get all weird and sometimes hilarious when I'm involved. But for Asher's sake, I hope it goes really smoothly with no story-worthy incidences. Even though they have to strap him down. And if that doesn't work, they have to knock him out. But whatever. It'll be fine. Easy peasy. No worries. No none. Not a one. It'll be super....I think.

To be continued...

Oh, golly! I have so been there. The Big Guy has had so many tests. It isn't easy, esp. when your 9 year old thinks having his blood drawn means he will die and it takes four grown nurses to hold him down and he is screaming at you, his mother, to save his life. Yikes! Lots of kids have big heads, don't they? I know a few and they are fine. I hope yours is super duper fine, too! Ha! My security words (is that what they call it?) is restiev. Kind of a fancy way of saying restive which is just how I am feeling. Spooky!

I will be thinking about you today. Been through head testing with one of my boys and it is a bit stressful. Can't wait to see what he does to change the world! Maybe he will develop a way of blogging by just thinking about a post! Although that could be scary too...

Hang in there... Asher is a Rock Star!! I love that boy of yours, and Ive decided that his giggles make me so happy and they stem (no pun intended) from his large brain. So that is always a good thing!!! :)

My husband is now narrating our life with the muttered refrain, "I feel a blog post coming on."

And he's so right. Now I can hang the craziness out there for everyone to enjoy.

It is nerve-racking, isn't it?

Lord, I pray that you would give Heather peace of mind through this entire ordeal. Help her to remain calm for Asher, and I ask that his scan be completely normal!

Both of my girls have large noggins. My older one's head is in the 95% and my younger one's is in the 75%. They get it from their dad.

Having just completed some tests of our own, I know how nerve-wracking it can be even when you *aren't worried.* Hugs to you.

I hope all went well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. It is so hard to see our kids have to go through these things...even if they are as simple as a catscan.
