You better just do it...

My priorities are all out of whack lately. They're so out of whack that I'm not even sure what I mean. But I do know that the addictive nature of blogging is taking a bit of a toll. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not going to stop blogging. Remember? I said it's addictive. And I freaking LOVE it. I love to write. I love to read. You guys rock the party.

But I'm still going on a blogcation. Is that what we call it? I think it will be good for me to just pretend it isn't there for awhile and try to remember what I did with my free time in the past. You know, things like talk to my husband, do laundry, and work out. (Okay I didn't really work out that much, but I should try it.)

I just need a breather, even though I might shake and feel a physical pull toward the computer. But honestly, I'm terrible with time management and focus, and there's lots going on. So there you have it.

Here's the fun part. While I'm away, I want guest bloggers! I've already enlisted a couple of lovely bloggy friends and appreciate them saying yes. Now how about you? Yes. YOU. Just say you'd like to do it and I'll get all giddy (maybe even jump up and down) and then I'll contact you and we'll set a date for you to post something here at the EO.

There will be no rules. It could be something cool from your archives or something new. I don't like rules so there really aren't any. Except for obvious ones like no nudity (Kristina) and no being mean. (Like you would ever be mean!) So there you have it. Leave me a comment or an email saying "COUNT ME IN." Then I'll count you in and I'll be grateful.

I would absolutely love some refreshing voices to cross this little old blog. Don't be shy, you people are good at this. Believe it!

(Oh! And if anything major happens with Asher while I'm not posting, I will let you know.)

(Oh! My email is fullcircle(underscore)doula(at)yahoo(dot)com)

I'll miss you and your fantastic posts.

And yes, I know it is so narcissistic of me to even post about not being around. But it was the only way to ask for guest bloggers so just ignore the self indulgence, okay?
__________
Oh wait. More narcissism- I'm feeling really bored with myself these days. Do you have any questions about me? Like when you come here to read do questions ever pop into your head? I realize I'm not all that mysterious, but I'm curious what people wonder. For instance, I'm well aware that people wonder if I'm Mormon or if I'm not. Good question. Be nosey, nothing throws me off. Remember? I don't like small talk. I'll tell you pretty much anything. Except for secrets. I won't tell you those. Ask away! I'll respond after the vacay.

(Won't I feel silly if no one asks me a thing? Serves me right with all this navel gazing! Get it, navel gazing? She's awesome.)

UPDATE: If you want to guest post, please don't think you can't because there are already quite a few offers. I will honestly take as many as I can get! There will be a bunch of guest posts during the blogcation and I'd love to continue to have more over the time Asher has his surgery and recovery. So the more the merrier.

*Update again: Just kidding. No, I really did mean all of that up there. I'm kidding about the last update. We're at about 30 offers right now for guest posts. Oh, how I wish I could take every single one of you up on it. But that would mean I'd be on blogcation for a month. I would most likely implode from all the thoughts in my head if that were the case. So thank you, thank you, and thank you again....but I've got enough guest bloggers lined up for now. I'm keeping a list though, for my next blogcation. P.S. While I've been away, I caught up on the filing (gasp!)

I think taking a break is a great idea and letting us know is just totally needful or else we might send the militia out after you. I will miss you, though! Get rested up!

OH!! You'll be missed!! Seriously. Yours is the one blog that posts around the same time every day so I totally watch out for your posts. And it's so nice of you to share your fame by having guest bloggers!

I hope you really enjoy your time away, but not so much that you don't want to come back!

Two questions: 1) What is your favorite breakfast cereal? I realize this seems like a lame question, but I think it tells a lot about a person.
2)HOW LONG DO YOU ESTIMATE YOU'LL BE GONE? Okay, you don't have to answer that since you might not know. We'll see you when you come back!

sandy toes-
I'll answer this one now since I brought it up myself :)

People wonder if I'm Mormon because a lot of my readers/commenters/blog list are lovely Mormon women (who are now my dear friends). I'm not a member of the LDS church. Thankfully, these lovely women still love me! :)

To throw more random and possibly boring information at you in this regard. I grew up Baptist, attend a Methodist church now, but consider myself a bit of a mutt. (Ha, where have I heard that lately?) Anyway, I'm a believer, I think God rocks the party. The end.

all right, Heather, if you want a guest writer that makes you look like a perfect mother by comparison, then you've found your woman. :)

I think a blogcation is a great way to clear your head. If you're looking for some distraction and quality time with kids, do you want to meet one day at the children's museum or zoo or something? (Seriously.)

Questions for you...

If you could rewrite Thanksgiving dinner from its traditional dishes to your all-time favorite meal, what foods would be on your plate?

What's something you love to do but haven't done since you had kids?

What are some things you know you should have throw away a long time ago, but just can't let go of?

And is this a full-fledged internet vacation or are you still going to read stuff but just not obsess about your own blog and comments? (maybe you explained that but I just didn't get it.)

Wait a minute... why didn't you ask ME to guest post?!?!? Wait... it's the no nudity clause, isn't it? Sigh. I will never live that down. I promise I do my laundry now. Really.

(And no, I don't actually wish to guest post. Because guest posters are supposed to have a point. And I, my dear, rarely have one.)

Count me in! I think. What if people don't like me? Oh, the pressure!!

OK, yeah. Count me in.

Oh, dear.

I'm still new to the blog world but I would love to be a guest. Just let me know..

Ok, so maybe I don't pay enough attention but I have no idea where you live!? That's my only question.

So sad to see you take a break but excited to see what you'll come back with and Asher will continue to be in my prayers so please please update us!

Great idea to take vacay. I have no doubts that you are a good mom, even though we have never met. I feel it in your writing and your thoughts and your concerns.

I am on board if you need me to.

Take Care.

Hi Heather,
You don't know me well, but I have been touched and have become addicted to your fun, candid, and open posts. If you'd consider having me as a guest poster, I'd be so honored!

No nudity?!?!?!? Well, I'm out! I completely understand the needed vacation. I am just going to sit back and read your guests who post.

And I had no idea you weren't LDS! I think I just assumed because I see you on all these LDS blogs.

I guess we can still be friends. ;)

Oh yeah, the blogcation is totally understandable. I probably should follow suit. One time, my internet went out for 2 weeks and I can't believe how much other stuff I got done! It was miraculous. Since then, I've tried to cut down on the computer, but it isn't easy. Kudos to you!

And my question, because I always want to know it about everyone: How did you meet your husband? I love real life love stories. :)

Erin said...

I wish I wasn't scared to do a guest post, but unfortunately, the thought terrifies me! (If you get desperate, send me an e-mail.)

As for questions, let's see...What is your favorite part about blogging? What is your least favorite? Did you graduate from college? Do you like the town you live in? Do you have siblings? What is your favorite dinner? If you could do anything you wanted for one day, what would it be?

Whoa. These are more like third-date kind of questions. Should I back off? :)

Good for you. You go be mom, wife and just Heather for awhile. Take our prayers with you while you are gone. I'll help you out any way - posting, whatever.

oh how I will be missing my daily EO Heather fix! But, I think you are wise, wise, wise to take a break.

Maybe we should all take a blogcation. I do sometimes wonder what I did with all my free time before I was tethered to my computer.

Love yougirl! Ali

Question: Who is your favorite roomate of all time? Don't answer that, because if it's not me, I'm not interested! :-) I can be narcissitc too. Kidding.

I will miss you--maybe the muffin/cupcake/pie fairy will have to swing by one of these days!

I'll guest post. It'll be like aharing a fridge again. Remember the sharpie? When Kenzie wrote "ME" on everything I thought it was mine. It said ME!

MY recent blogcation gave me a renewed mental focus, but I still didn't have enough hours in the day. (just a warning.)
If you would like mindless drivel, I am happy to provide.
Have a super time with your family!

I'll miss your posts! But I can definitely see the need to concentrate on your fam extra right now...

It is funny to think of life before blog. I don't think I got anything more done, but I think I did read more...

I may guest post, but the thought does freak me out a little.

You will indeed be missed. I will guest blog if you'd like :)

You've made a good decision, although you most certainly be missed. In the big scheme of things, it is our family who comes first. Please do update us on Asher though.

Where did you get his name from?

Other than being on the computer, what is your favorite way to spend alone time.

Where did you work BKs?

Take care and enjoy the break!

I completely understand needing a break. I do it from time to time myself.
I would be happy to help you by being a guest blogger. I don't know how interesting I'll be...I may ramble, but that's ok right? ;)
