gobble

The thing about summer in Minnesota, is that it's so precious, a person hardly even knows where to start to make the most of it.

It seems as if it flashes by in a moment and every fall, we Minnaahsoohhtons are left wondering if it really happened or not. We stand in the crisp turned frigid air and wonder how one point on the map can be so full of warmth and vibrant color and then, in an instant, so full of ice and gray.

So we gobble up summer, I guess that's what I'm trying to say.

See?

Miles with friend, Marin

oh my, I can't stand it...

look across the lake, at the rain falling over there, but not here

um...seriously...

little T is such a tasty little morsel.
(my life-long friend Jenna's little girl)

Meet Lucy. She is my sister and her family's dog.
Her head is not floating...she's simply begging to get out of the
stinking porch already. By the way, I'm crazy about this dog.
She is the softest and sweetest dog I've ever met.

Today I woke up to crisp cool air and thought to myself, fall is officially here. I love it.

I think I'll move to Minnesota just so I can be called a "Minnaahsoohhton". :) Summers are short and winters are long and hard over here, too. Except we don't have peanut butter cups and Oreos. Count your blessings. :) Love the visuals of gobbling up summer.

We gobble up summer here in Michigan, too. Winter time.... eeeek sending that thought into repression for the time being. Great shots! Summer is such a blessing. I'm planning on getting my photos up in a bit. Maybe after another cup of coffee... on my porch (while it is still warm enough to do so)

The mornings & the evenings are borderline frigid here in Upstate NY - and the days have been lazy and warm. Fall is almost here - and we too have been trying to soak up as much as the suns and its warmth before the dreariness of snow and winter move in.

Great photos!!! And, your friend's little girls is just gorgeous! Just gorgeous!

I am not jealous of your winter, but I'd love to have your autumn. Fall in the midwest seems magical.

I've got a guest room that's yours whenever you need a refill.

It's 92 here in Dallas today :-)

I miss Fall so desperately it hurts. My favorite season. We go from heat to ice storms in about two weeks.

But the people are really nice!

This was summer in Seattle as well. The sun would finally make its appearance around mid-June, and we knew the rain would start around mid-September. So everyone would tumble out of their houses and offices, shedding raincoats and turtlenecks, and soak up summer with an almost frenzied desperation!

On the other hand, it's been 110 in Vegas for the last two weeks. Nope. No fall yet. Stupid, stupid Las Vegas.

C'mon on down South girl. We've got "Summer" 'til October 'round these parts! ;-)

I adore every single ones of these but that doggie looks to really need some petting and I love all the colors in that one! Nice job...

Oh the ending days of summer are the best. Boo has spent every moment outside that she can, in the pool and in the trees. We all love the days that lead to school time, it reminds us that it comes and goes so fast.

Oh, just FYI, Molly from the Snyder 5 raved about your blog the last time we had lunch, so I had to stop by! Nice to meet you :-)

so, so true about minnesota summers.
and on the lake, sigh ... i miss them so.

oddly, i'm learning that vegas summers are very much like minnesota winters. we hibernate, so as to avoid the excessive heat.

I'm one state over in Wisconsin and we do the same thing. We hold in to each and every moment we can get in the summer and hope that it holds us over the winter but never does.
