shake the dust

Thank you, Deb. I'm so grateful you shared this on your blog, and now I can't stop myself from sharing it on mine.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I just need a reminder that we're all the same and that beauty comes after pain and that struggle is universal and so is grace. So yeah. I'm so moved by the above performance, I've watched it three times in one hour.

Peace, friends.

deb writes at Talk at the Table. Her words are gifts. Her gifts are words. I highly recommend her to your eyes and your mind and your heart.

Now that's a KEEPER! I will def watch it over and over.
You know, if you spoke your words on stage, you could intrigue us all, just like he did...yours just happen to be in text, which means, to our benefit, we get to read them daily (almost)! Thanks so much for sharing this and for sharing you. You make a difference in my life, Heather!

What a find!

Thanks so much for your support and your words, which help me and probably so many others with our "isms".

I just realized what EO stands for. I kept getting this vague hit that it was a planet you made up. Like Mork from Ork, I thought it was funny. I think I will have to come up with a planet of my own.

You are indeed extraordinary. Thank-you! Thank-you!

Susan

I forget sometimes too... Tolerance is such a beautiful thing. This is amazing.

These lines made me cry:

"For the ones who are told to speak only when you are spoken to and then are never spoken to. Speak every time you stand so you do not forget yourself.
Do not let a moment go by that doesn't remind you that your heart beats 900 times a day and that there are enough gallons of blood to make you an ocean.
Do not settle for letting these waves settle and the dust to collect in your veins."

Thank you for guiding me to this drink of water for my soul.

"every time I write I'm cutting out parts of myself and sharing it with you"....that is powerful. That is exactly what it feels like to share your deepest pains on a blog, or a journal, or a book and send it out, not knowing how it will be met or what reaction it will elicit.

It still blows me away and I can't tell you how many times I've watched it.

and um , Heather , that's not a credit.
That's tears in my coffee.

Amy and Susan,
Thank you for your kind words. Wow, you've made my whole weekend...okay, maybe even longer :)

From Tracie- YES. I thought about writing vulnerably and sharing it when he said all of that about the push and pull and giving it all out to the world like pieces of himself. It gets me all weepy. I love it.

deb- I'm just so glad to know you and your words. Thank you.

Heather,

I read you always, comment rarely.

This was just what I needed today. A get off your ass kind of warning, encouragement, motto.

To shake the dust -- no matter from which background you come from, no matter from which creed you recite ... shake it.

Sigh - tears are flowing. Thank you for sharing this.

Goose here. With goose bumps.
Shaking the dust. I think that's what we're doing when we open up and let truth spill out. When we trust our words mean more than characters on a page or a screen.
Shaking the dust. Living a life a little more high, a little more mighty. Looking for more. Reaching...for more.
Yup, I love this. You know it!
