My Mom and Dad~ 40 years ago
Mom and Dad~40 years later
My parent's actual anniversary was in December, around the time of Asher's surgery. So we're having a belated party tomorrow in their honor. As I made a DVD filled with pictures through all the years, I got to thinking about what an amazing thing it is to spend 40 years with someone, sharing so many memories and holding the same experiences in your heart. I'm so thankful for the years my sister and I have had with our Mom and Dad. We've hit our inevitable bumps in the road, but my parents have always been there on the other side of everything life brings, in their beautiful house in the country, the door always open.
Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
(late.)
Mom, please forgive me. How could I not share this one?
(hee hee hee)
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Have a good weekend.

It's so amazing how much a stable, and committed marriage can produce such well-adjusted children. Not to say everything is perfect in each family where the parents love each other, but what a better shot all of the children have. Congrats to you folks! Mine will celebrate 46 this year. :)
Congratulations to them! And being the genetic expert that I am (knowing you for 10 seconds and seeing your parents' photos on the internet), you have your mom's smile on your dad's face. :)
congrats to them ..
when Dad died 2 yrs ago, he and mom had been together 56 years ..
and yes, it is an amazing thing .. keeping love new .. always fresh ..
Happy Valentines Day to you and Ryan on your way to 40 plus years
Anonymous is talking about robots! Awesome!
And your parents are adorable!
I hope your parents consider one of the greatest thing to come out of those 40 years...YOU. Wonderful, thoughtful, faithful, insightful heart-of-gold YOU. They must be excellent parents. The rest of us can't possibly thank them enough for the gift that is YOU.
Okay, well, congratulations too! :)
Happy 40th to your parents! That's so awesome. My parents celebrated their 40th last month, too. Love is so beautiful, isn't it?
Happy Valentine's Day!
What an awesome tribute--and great pics (especially that last one!)
My parents were out of the country on church service for their 40th. Hoping they'll be nearby for their 50th in 6 years.
They are a beautiful couple!
Congrats to your parents. 40 years is something to be admired and celebrated. They look so happy, I think I will be to when my husband and I reach our 40th too. ;)
Your parents rock the house. They are great. Love the last picture!! Happy V day to you, Heather.
40 years is an really long time! I've only been married 5. I don't know if I could make it another 35! Just kidding...maybe.
I'm totally copying Charrette on this one--thank heavens for your parents just so we could get you!
Mine will be celebrating the big 4-0 next week. I'm hoping to get there myself. Hubby and I workin' on year 9. Personally, I still consider it to be cloud 9. =]
Congrats to your parents!
My folks hit 40 this year too. It's neat to have an example to look up to.
P.S. Your mom is gonna killll you.
40! That's fabulous!
Both my parents and my husband's parents had their 40th anniversaries a couple of years ago, in the same summer. We asked all of their friends to write notes and put them together in tribute scrapbooks. I gained so much appreciation for them and their marriage through that process! Thanks for sharing.
It's so refreshing to see and hear success stories about marriages and parents in today's crazy society. Thanks for sharing!
i think your mom and mine shared the "crown" veil at their wedding!
If sweet Rhett and I make it to 40 years, I won't mind if my children post pictures of me pretending to be a yoga instructor.
But if they put any pictures of me in my swimsuit on their blogs, they are DEAD TO ME.
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Heather's parents!
Sweet photos- Happy Anniversary to them!
That's a GREAT pic of your mom!! Love the tie/scarf...what do they call those things? Ascots?
Being blessed with 40 years is pretty special - congrats to them!
OH, this was great! I hope they had a wonderful party.
Steph
